Pretty Little Cables Clutch Knitting Pattern

This girly little clutch will be great for a night on the town, or to add that special touch to your favorite outfit.

Finished Size : 11" wide (after I blocked mine) & 6" folded in half

 

 

Yarn Used :

Lion Brand Wool

1 ball - 158yds / 144m - 3oz. / 85g

Color Used : Winter White

 

 

Needles & Notions :

US Size 7

Row Counter if needed

Cable Needle or DPN

Yarn Needle

Handles

(my handles were bought at a thrift shop on another bag)

Ribbon & Material for lining bag if desired

 

 

 

Abbreviations :

K = Knit

P = Purl

CO = Cast On

Rep = repeat

S1 = slip 1 stitch purlwise

crossover = slip next st to cable needle, k2, than k st from cable needle

 

 




 

Pattern Instructions

 

Notes : Mult. of 6 sts. plus 3 sts.

 

CO 63

 

Row 1 : k3, *p1, s1, p1, k3*: rep from to end.

Row 2 : p3,*k3, p3 * rep to end.

Row 3 : crossover, *p1, s1, p1, crossover* rep from to end.

Row 4 : p3,*k3, p3 * rep to end.

 

Rep rows 1-4,  10 times ( about 5 1/2" long ) or desired length

 

Row 1 : *k3, p3 * to last 3 sts, k3.

Row 2 : *p3, k3 * to last 3 sts, p3.

 

Row 1 : k3, *p1, s1, p1, k3*: rep from to end.

Row 2 : p3,*k3, p3 * rep to end.

Row 3 : crossover, *p1, s1, p1, crossover* rep from to end.

Row 4 : p3,*k3, p3 * rep to end.

 

Rep rows 1-4, 10 times or desired length

 

BO.

 

Finishing

 

Block if desired.

(I blocked mine b/c of the handles I used, it wasn't wide enough, by just about 1 or 1/2 inch.)

With wrong sides facing each other, sew up sides.

( I used the long tail left over from CO & BO to sew up sides.)

 

Attach handles of your choice,

& ribbon ( I ran ribbon behind each cable)

 

Line bag if desired.
