Abbreviations:

K = Knit

P = Purl

CO = Cast On

K2tog = knit 2 stitches together

yo = yarn over

 

sk2po = slip 1 stitch, knit 2 stitches together, pass the slip st over (2 stitches decreased)

 

ssk = slip 2 stitches one at a time, knit 2 slipped stitches together through back loop

Row 1 : (RS) k2tog, k3, yo, *k1, yo, k3, ssk, yo, sk2po, yo, k2tog, k3, yo; rep from* to las 6 sts, k1, yo, k3, ssk.

 

Row 2 : Purl

 

Rep these 2 rows twice more,

 

Row 5 : (RS) k2tog, k3, yo, *k1, yo, k3, ssk, yo, sk2po, yo, k2tog, k3, yo; rep from* to las 6 sts, k1, yo, k3, ssk.

 

Row 6 : knit

 

Rep these 6 rows for desired length of scarf.
