Abbreviations :

K = Knit

P = Purl

CO = Cast On

 

smocking st = insert RH needle from front between 6th and 7th sts, wrap yarn around needle and draw through a loop, sl this loop on LH needle and k tog with first st on LH needle

 

k2tog = knit the next 2 sts together

 

YO = yarn over

 

 

Pattern Instructions

 

CO 22

 

 

Row 1 : (RS) p2, * k2, p2; rep from * to end.

Row 2 : *k2, p2, rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.

Row 3 : p2, * smocking st, k1, p2, k2, p2; rep from * to end.

Row 4 & 6 : as row 2

Row 5 : as row 1

Row 7 : p2, k2, p2, * smocking st, k1, p2, k2, p2; rep from * to last 4 sts, k2, p2.

Row 8 : as row 2

 

Rep these 8 rows for desired length.

Next row : k4, YO, k2tog, k to last 5 sts, YO, k2tog, k to end.

BO.

 

Finishing

 

Sew on buttons
